How To Prepare For Bank Clerk Examinations ?

How To Become A Clerk ? Eligibility

You should  fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for the post :

AGE LIMIT

The age must be between 20 Years to 28 years .

                                                                       AGE  RELAXATION

There are 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years age relaxation for OBC category.

For Ex-Servicemen and Disabled Ex-Servicemen, the Actual period of service rendered in defense services + 3 years ( 8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to max. age of 50 years.

Educational Qualification

The candidate applying for a clerk examination must have a Graduation degree from any   stream from government recognized university. Only the valid mark sheet is considered.

Besides , proficiency in the official language of the state and operational knowledge of computer are the prerequisites .

Nationality / Citizenship

Indian Citizenship is required . A subject of Nepal / Bhutan or the Tibetan Refugee who shifted to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible .

Besides the above criteria, a candidate must also not hold any criminal record while applying for the examination .

How To Become A Clerk ?  Examinations Pattern

IBPS and SBI are the major recruiters . The examination pattern is similar for all the banks .

The examination is conducted in two phases : Preliminary and Mains .

You have to clear both the phases to be finally recruited, on the basis of Merit List. There is no interview.

How To Become A Clerk ? Duties !

He plays a very significant role in the smooth functioning of the bank. They are responsible for accepting payments, sanction withdrawals, verify cheques, issue demand drafts & other banking related services to customers .

He maintains all the records of activities which are taking place every day in the bank in a systematic manner.

Besides, he  may also be assigned duties related to promotion of various financial products like  loans, deposits and other financial schemes.

How To Prepare and Become a Bank Clerk  ?

He is assigned either  to a branch or to a Regional / Zonal / Head office .  As per their assigned duty , they are of various types like loan , interest , security , exchange etc.

Interest Clerk: He main Records interest owed to saving accounts customers and interest owed to the bank from loans and other investments.

Loan Clerk : The task of the loan clerk is to maintain all the information regarding the loans.

Statement Clerk : He maintains the monthly balance sheets of bank customers in a systematic manner .

Exchange Clerks : He works looks after the bank’s international accounts and translates  foreign currency into other pounds sterling and vice versa.

Security Clerk : His task  is to deal with all the investments and stock details of the bank.

Book Keeping Clerk : He takes care of records of  each bank customer’s account .
